Office visits are one of the most important things you can do to keep your furry companion healthy. The American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) recommends annual office visits at a minimum. As your pet ages, they suggest an increase in frequency of visits. Here at Rose City Veterinary Hospital we strongly believe in preventive care and have developed wellness protocols for every stage of your pet's life.

During a wellness office visit, our veterinary team will start by taking your pet's vital signs. Typically, your veterinarian will ask for a complete history of your pet's health including eating habits, exercise, behavior, etc and do a comprehensive examination of your pet from head to tail. Your veterinarian may also perform diagnostic tests such as blood work, urinalysis or intestinal parasite tests and vaccines may be administered (depending on your pet's life stage) or vaccine titers. Additionally, disease screenings (heartworm, kidney, liver, blood disorders, etc.) may be recommended, depending on the state of your pet's health.

Preventative detection of medical problems will help ensure that your furry companion will have a longer healthier active live.

Have been taking my cats to RCVH for years. The Vets and office staff have always been great. My current Vet Dr. Brickman is exceptional: she took over from my previous Vet who moved away. She is very patient and listens to my concerns regarding my elderly male cat. She is a real professional.
